About Louise and how I reflect on memories.

Lemons recur on the table — a familiar attribute throughout my work, their connotation not far to seek. The man in black and white, the woman in colour. Presence and absence coexist without resolving into narrative.
The work once carried a second title, The Green Door, referring to a separate 40 cm panel attached to the main painting with hidden bolts, acting as both threshold and interruption. It allows the viewer to enter unexpectedly.

The first painting in a new series, all about Louise and how I reflect on memories.

A seaside scene unfolds with deliberate irony: intimacy is staged rather than lived. On the right, a drawn figure — Tintin — stands before the curtain, revealing the theatrical nature of the image. A nod to my Belgian roots and to Hergé.
