Forsoning

Oil on cardboard/canvas, 60cm x 80cm (Nov 2016).

Inspired on a Scandinavian TV-series. It is about the reconciliation of a couple. The bluish tone should give the feeling that it is already late in the evening, the light supposedly comes from a full moon. The man is drinking from a glass of beer that is a tribute to the famous Antwerp beer De Koninck, the glass is “een bolleke”. The woman has an eardrop, it makes her look a bit cheap and I have doubted if I should remove it again. She also has a little chain at her ankle, bearably visible with this resolution.

NL- Interpretatie van een Scandinavische TV-reeks waarbij dit beeld gaat over de verzoening van een koppel. De blauwige tinten zouden een laat-avond gevoel moeten ondersteunen, waarbij het felle licht zijn oorsprong vindt in een volle maan. De man heeft een bierglas vast dat niet onbedoeld lijkt op een echt bolleke Koninck. De vrouw heeft een oorbel aan, het maakt haar een beetje goedkoop, misschien moet ik dit terug wegdoen. Ze heeft ook een kettingkje aan haar enkel, maar dat is moeilijk zichtbaar.
